Gym Beavs share Pac-12 regular season title

CORVALLIS, Ore. – For the first time in program history, the Gym Beavs captured a share of the Pac-12 regular season championship after earning five conference wins.

“I’m excited for this team and proud that they won a share of the title,” commented the head coach. Tanya Chaplin. “I can’t wait to see them write the rest of their story this season.”

No. 12 Oregon State (8-2, 5-2 Pac-12) shares the co-championship alongside Arizona State, Cal and Utah. After UCLA defeated Cal on Sunday, March 6, it forced a four-way tie for the title. This is the third season the conference has crowned a regular season champion, beginning the tradition in 2020.

The Beavers had a stellar conference season inside the Gill Coliseum with a perfect 4-0 record against Pac-12 opponents, starting with a Pac-12 conference opener win over UCLA. . In back-to-back wins over Arizona State and Washington, Oregon State posted a season-best 197.375 against the Sun Devils before adding a 197.275 against the Huskies.

On February 18, the Orange & Black recorded their best road score of the season at No. 4 Utah with a 197.150 inside the Jon M. Hunstman Center. First-year student Jade Carey led the team to their sixth consecutive all-around title while a senior Madi Dagen added a career-best 39,575 all-around.

Concluding the Pac-12 home roster on Feb. 25, the Orange & Black beat Stanford (197.225-195.050) on senior night.

In eight contests, Oregon State has had five 197s, the most since the 2005 season. The Beavers have also hit 49 points for each rotation in the last five meetings, which is the first time since 2018. .

The Beavers close out the regular season this Sunday on the road, traveling to Denver, Colorado to face No. 14 Denver, No. 18 Arkansas and Nebraska. The quad meet is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. PT.
