Samuel Adams’ new beer is illegal in Idaho

If you want to try Samuel Adams’ new beer, “Utopias”, you will have to leave Idaho to do so as it is illegal here.

I am a huge fan of Sam Adams’ Winter Lager, which I will soon be able to enjoy! But that’s not all they have. In fact, Samuel Adams brews quite a few beers! Their latest is a limited edition beer called “Utopias” and you will not be able to buy it in the state of Idaho. This beer is apparently released every two years or so for a limited time, so I’m guessing what’s old is new, but what’s old continues to be because its ABV (alcohol by volume) percentage is way too high for it. Idaho standards. Now, in Idaho’s defense, we don’t drink “near beer” like our friends in southern Utah must, but we place around 7.5% for beers and Utopias Samuel Adams sports a super tangy 28%!

Do you remember when you were a kid and your dad used to say: “this will put hair on your chest”? This beer will do just that, but apparently it’s really good and people seem to love it. Unfortunately, if you wish, you will have to cross state borders. You CAN buy it in Oregon, Washington and Nevada so if you’re in any of those states grab a bottle and drink it don’t bring it back to Idaho because we don’t like this shenanigans by here ! Joke. I’m sure they don’t watch consumption as much as they watch sales.
