Washington man killed in three-vehicle crash on Highway 18 near Grand Ronde | Local News

POLK COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) — One person was killed and three people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 18 near Grand Ronde Saturday night.

Around 5:40 p.m., emergency crews responded to the crash near mile post 17. Oregon State Police say an investigation revealed a black Mercedes 4D heading towards the West had crossed the eastbound lane and collided with a gray Dodge pickup truck. After the collision, a GMC pickup truck struck the Dodge pickup truck.

OSP said the driver of the Mercedes, identified as Gary Young, 76, of Naches, Washington, was pronounced dead at the scene. A Mercedes passenger was taken to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Oregon (KPTV) – Oregon State Police are investigating a hit and run crash that killed a pedestrian along the 99E freeway on Sunday.

Two people in the Dodge were injured and taken to an area hospital. The extent of their injuries is not known. The driver and passenger of the GMC were not injured, according to OSP.

Highway 18 was closed for about four hours while the accident is investigated. OSP was assisted at the scene by the Grand Ronde Fire Department, Grand Ronde Police Department and ODOT.
