Watch a 30-minute drive through American Truck Simulator’s beautiful Montana expansion
It’s been quite a while since developer SCS Software revealed that American Truck Simulator’s next destination would be Montana, but now, following regular progress reports on its blog, the studio has given us our best look ever. upcoming expansion, sharing a 30-minute panoramic scene. cross the state in a long new gameplay video.
Montana, confirmed for development last November, will be American Truck Simulator’s tenth explorable state, joining California and Nevada (both included at launch in 2016), alongside DLC additions Arizona, New Mexico , Oregon, Washington, Utah, Idaho, Colorado and Wyoming.
Setting the stage for its new expansion on Steam, SCS explains, “Montana is a gateway to Glacier and Yellowstone – two crown jewels of the national park system – and home to glistening glacial lakes, snow-capped peaks, trout blue ribbon streams and the mighty Missouri, Yellowstone and Flathead rivers. »
“Vast, untouched and wild, [Montana] represents the best of the American West. Hardy cowboys still ride the saddle on ranches and wow crowds at rodeos. Ghost towns, state parks and a one-of-a-kind dinosaur trail preserve a dazzling array of historical treasures.”
You might spot at least some of it on SCS’s wonderfully relaxing 30-minute sightseeing tour of its digital Montana, offering some truly spectacular views. SCS has dramatically upped its game with each new expansion release (to the point where it has begun revisiting older states to bring them up to its current standards), and this first look at Montana is a stunner, showcasing some of his best work yet.
SCS isn’t quite ready to share a release date for American Truck Simulator’s Montana expansion just yet, but it says development is “slowly approaching the finish line.” So hopefully, it won’t be long before Montana is ready to open its borders, in which case it will be SCS’s Texas expansion – announced in March 2021 – that takes center stage.
